Public Broadcasting did not serve the interests of the public during the recent health care conference. For the most part, the summit, which was discussing issues vital to millions of Americans, was largely ignored. Other media outlets, led by CNN and Fox, selectively cut away when you and the Democrats were speaking, but interrupted whatever they were doing to bring the right wing talking points into our homes. It is obvious to all, the press is no longer free. It's bought and paid for.
Mr. President, the last administration left such a stinking pile of messes to shovel out that I know you have your hands full moving from disaster to disaster and putting things right. But I'm hoping you could move one thing to the top of the list - giving "We the People," a voice. That voice would be Public Broadcasting.
